When doing an outdoor gig for a 400 foot throw bring enough pa. Sub clipping doesn't sound good.
How can a BE clip the amps if your system is set right?

The problem I have seen MANY times is the guys who want "more and more" are the ones who can't mix anyway. No dynamic range-they think louder is the only way to get more "dynamic range" yet all they do is squash it all up by driving into compression/limiting.My point was merely that it is often more than loud enough for the audience even when the rig is so small that the BE feels the need to wring every last watt of power out of the rig to feel satisfied.
I could hear the audience singing louder than the pa.
I'm not talking majority of the crowd I'm talking the five drunk chicks who forgot the words up front...
WOW-you could hear 5 drunk chicks who were up front singing LOUDER than the PA was-while facing away from you -while at FOH?I'm not talking majority of the crowd I'm talking the five drunk chicks who forgot the words up front...

That really was a quiet show-------------------------------Or they were really singing REALLY loud----------------------
It is not the number of boxes-but rather what models they were-how they were "tuned" and so forth. A brand name without model numbers is pretty much useless information.
I was just a hand for the show so I got paid for the gig either way, my name was no where near public for the event either so its just me wondering how this guy keeps getting the big gigs.
